Endogen White is a single varietal Xarel·lo from Penedès, an adventurous white wine for those who like a little more going on.

It starts with quince and honey, followed by thyme, vanilla, toffee and toasted almond. There is richness here, but also enough freshness to keep it balanced and easy to come back to.

Finca Mas Perdut is a small family producer that work with local grapes, such as Xarel-lo, more commonly associated with Cava. Forward thinking winemaking, with additions kept to a minimum.

Why we chose it?

A cracking low-production white that highlights the full potential of Xarel·lo, in a region fast becoming renowned for innovation.

The wine...

Endogen

Endogen shows what Xarel-lo can do without the bubbles. The wine uses oak, clay amphora and glass demijohn, with naturally occurring yeasts (the Endogen) adding layers of flavour and texture. The result is rich, bright and just a little unconventional. And with only 1,500 bottles made, this wine is truly unique. Works wonderfully with food - roast chicken, seafood and soft cheese all hit the spot.

Finca Mas Perdut

Finca Mas Perdut is a family project with roots on the estate going back to 1868. The current custodians, in place since 2010, have brought modern knowledge in areas such as nutrition, as well as winegrowing and winemaking. They work with native grapes, old vines and low yields, taking a hands-off approach that lets the vineyards shape the wines, rather than aiming for a polished house style.

Penedes

Penedès sits between Barcelona and Tarragona, stretching from the Mediterranean coast towards cooler inland hills. It is famous as the home of Cava, but its still wines deserve far more attention. Sea influence, varied altitudes and warm sunshine help grapes build flavour while holding on to freshness. Now fully organic at appellation level, the region is proving that deep wine tradition and modern, forward-thinking producers can make a very good match.
