A captivating dry white wine from North-West Italy that’s soft and aromatic, with a properly fresh finish.

Arajs brings pineapple and other tropical fruit to the fore, with a subtle caramel note and an unexpected savoury edge.

Arneis grapes are indigenous to this part of Italy, and are picked by hand in the coolest part of the day. Five months on the lees gives the wine extra texture without hiding its freshness.

Production is small - only 1,858 bottles were made - so this is Piedmont beyond the familiar names.

Why we chose it?

Arneis once came close to disappearing completely. This tiny-batch bottle gives that historic local grape a modern, precise and very drinkable place at the table.

Arajs

Arneis is a captivating Italian grape variety, being rediscovered for its charming aromatics. The grapes used in Arajs, come from a south-west-facing vineyard at 270 metres. Natural freshness is retained from altitude and early harvesting, whilst bâtonnage (yeast stirring), adds rich texture. Try it cool with fish starters, risotto, or fragrant Asian dishes at dinner.

Pedemontis

Pedemontis is a mixed-farming project rooted in the hills of Langhe. 13 hectares of vineyards sit within a much larger, idyllic landscape of woodland, pasture, truffle grounds and hazelnut groves. Grazing donkeys and their compost add further biodiversity, whilst vineyard treatments are kept to a minimum, all in aid of prioritising long-term vineyard health.
The Dolcetto d'alba region full of vineyards on hills and sits right next to Barolo.

Langhe and Piedmont

Piedmont is a truly amazing wine region, full of incredible wines of outstanding quality. Whilst famed in some parts for its red Barolo's, white wines of Piedmont can be equally enthralling. Soft, water-absorbent soils can produce wines with delicacy, aroma and freshness. Arneis is the region's historic local white grape, revived through modern single-varietal winemaking.
