Stina Pošip, by Jako Vino

Regular price £32.00

A stunning dry white wine from Croatia that demonstrates the quality of Pošip - the favourite local grape.

Various winemaking processes - cold soak and oak ageing - have been carefully considered to create the perfect balance, flavour intensity and texture.

The result is a special wine full of citrus, peach and mango, a subtle hint of oak, and a beautiful feel in the mouth.

Why we choose it?

Croatian wine is incredibly underrated, mainly due to low export volume (they drink most if it themselves). A rare and exquisite example of a grape variety that's sure to grow in popularity.

Posip
The wine...

Posip

Posip (pronounced poh-ship) could be the next big grape variety of the wine world. Stina is named after the white stone found on the Island of Brac, and there is a distinct mineral style to this wine, along with more typical citrus fruits and ripe peach. Full bodied yet refreshing. A worthy partner to a stylish seafood dish.
Jako Vino
The producer...

Jako Vino

Jako Vino is a modern and ambitious wine project showcasing the best of the Dalmatian Coast. They favour plantings of indigenous grape varieties, like Posip, many of which are located on steep cliffs requiring hand harvesting. The 'house style' is pure and stylish, mirrored by the minimalist labels.
Dalmatia
The region...

Dalmatia

Dalmatia is a one of two coastal wine regions in Croatia, covering the more Southerly coastline and islands. It's warm and sunny - both red and white grapes grow well here. There's a deep history of winemaking, but is only now gaining a reputation for high quality wines. As well as Posip, look out for other local grapes including Plavac Mali, Grk, and Babic.
