Sauvignon Blanc, by Fyrmonia

Regular price £22.00

A fresh and modern approach to single varietal Sauvignon Blanc that will delight just about everyone.

Made by micro winery Fyrmonia, meticulous care has been taken to produce a wine that balances freshness, aromatics, salinity and texture. Grapes are organically grown, with minimal intervention during winemaking.

Tons of stone and citrus fruits are complimented by a salty undertone, whilst a portion of the grapes have been barrel aged for textural richness.

Why we chose it?

This is a superb Sauvignon Blanc that will appeal to even the fiercest critics of this popular grape variety.

Sauvignon
The wine...

Sauvignon

Whilst the typical aromatic profile of Sauvignon Blanc, citrus and stone fruit, is undoubtedly on show, there's so much more going on here. The regions limestone soils add a mineral lift, whilst careful use of oak provides a round, moreish finish. As a result, this wine is hugely versatile, and will pair wonderfully with fish, pasta and soft cheese. Or, equally delicious on its own.
Fyrmonia
The producer...

Fyrmonia

A micro winery producing less than 15,000 total bottles a year, with around 5,000 of this Sauvignon Blanc produced. With small, focussed production, Fyrmonia can pay meticulous care to everything they do - minimal intervention but maximum dedication in their words. Organic farming is a crucial part of the process, adding a unique expression of the local area in their final wines.
Slovakia
The region...

Slovakia

Southern Slovakia (or Južnoslovenskáis to use the proper regional name) is quietly earning itself a reputation for quality winemaking. It's Slovakia's warmest region, and with an abundance of sunshine hours, boasts rich full reds alongside fresh and flavourful whites. A long ripening season is key to producing wines with concentrated flavours, and the area is also building a reputation for premium natural and organic wines.
