Even in its home turf of Wagram, it makes up just 5% of grape plantings, because its historically been challenging to grow. But with modern wine techniques and increasing local esteem, it's starting to enjoy a reputation to match its quality.
What we really love about it is the rich texture it brings and the layers of complex flavours. Emil Bauer, a small family-run winery, is all about quality over quantity. By keeping their yields low, they bring out bolder, more vibrant flavours – think ripe peach, grapefruit, and a dash of white pepper. Favours that stick around long after you’ve had a sip. Proper good stuff.

Roter
Don't be fooled by the name - Roter (Red) Veltliner - which derives from reddish tinge found on the grapes. But this is definitely a white grape, perfect for fresh yet complex white wines with a rich texture. A super versatile wine, it can be enjoyed on its own, or paired with light summary dishes.
